These solar panels on the roof of this house have water from the backyard swimming pool pumped through them all day. Cold water is pumped up and into the bottom of the panels. Hot water comes out at the top and is pumped back into the pool.

If you own a swimming pool already, you have made a considerable investment in your home and in making your residence more enjoyable to live in. Well, a swimming pool solar heater doesn't cost as much as you might think, but it can give you several weeks a year more enjoyment in your pool. Wouldn't that be a good investment as well?

It would mean that you, your family and guests could have more healthy fun splashing around in the water or just enjoying the good life.

You get that extra time because in spring, when other pool owners check their water and it is still too cold for swimming in their pools, your home swimming pool will be several degrees warmer because of the free hot water that your pool solar panels have provided for you. And likewise in the fall.when summer is over and the neighbors give up on swimming, your pool guests can be having a whale of a time in luxurious sun-warmed water.

All it takes is a few big swimming pool solar heater panels placed up on the roof of your house. The solar panels are not obtrusive, they lie directly on top of the tiles and they are dark and rather thin. It is very likely that most people walking by your house or driving past your home won't even notice the pool solar panels sitting up there. Judge for yourself from the picture on this Hub page.

You know what's on the roof, but most folks never even look up there. And the rest of your swimming pool solar heater is even more low-key. You just need an electric pump to push the cold water from your pool up to the solar hot water panels and, depending on the height of your roof and the distance to your swimming pool, your solar heating installation may also include a smaller electric water pump to force the warmed water back to your pool. These water pumps are quiet and unobtrusive, and the black plastic water pipes blend neatly into the garden landscape.

Depending how much sunshine you get where you live, it would be a fair guess that you could get an extra month's worth of swimming every year from your swimming pool solar heater. It would even add to the asset value of your home.

Solar panel heating can save you a lot and work really well on your pool if you are in a warmer climate with a lot of sun. Arizona for instance is a great place to forgo the heater and get solar panels. If you're on the market for a pool be sure to check out NationWidePools.com and message me on twitter @nationwidepools if you have any questions. Thanks -Ken
